Course description and certification
The Masters degree certifies 60 credits ECTS for the following activities:
• 40 credits (1000 hours student's workload) for the assessment concerning each of the didactic modules studied in the first semester:

• 10 credits (250 hours student's workload) for the evaluation of the internship (or the alternative activity agreed with the Master's Didactic and Scientific Council) to be carried out during the 2nd semester;
• 10 credits (250 hours student's workload) for the final project work, to be carried out during the 2nd semester.
The Master activities include:
• seminars at relevant national organizations (Crisis Unit of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and of the Municipality of Rome, High Studies Defence Centre, etc.);
• seminars, in Italy or abroad, organized at international organisations (United Nations, International Red Cross, High Commissioner for Refugees, FAO, IFAD, World Food Programme, ecc.);
The final evaluation, in 110 marks, takes into account the average (weighted with the credits) of the marks obtained by the students in the aforesaid Modules and the evaluation of the Internship and of the final thesis.
The attendance is obligatory and is checked daily. The final degree cannot be released if the number of missed hours overcomes the 25% of the total. In case of no attendance, low proficiency or incorrect behaviour, the Master Didactic and Scientific Council may decide the suspension or exclusion of the participant. In these cases the paid fees cannot be reimbursed.
Lectures, seminars, meetings and round tables will be organized with the participation of experts from international organizations, regional and national government officials, and managers from private and non-profit making institutions.
Teaching methodology will be mainly based on the presentation, discussion and analysis of case studies. During the second semester an internship in national or international, public or private, organizations and the the preparation of a final project work will complete the preparation.
Students shall obtain the Master Degree after a positive evaluation of their studies and of the defense of the project work.
Recognition and legal value of the Master
The final certificate and title of "Master in European and International policies and Crisis management" has full legal value as a first level University Masters. The ECTS is adopted (the European Credit Transfer System measures the student’s workload: 1 credit = 25 working hours).
